Registering at Kinmylies Medical Practice
Temporary Capping of Practice List
Like many GP practices, Kinmylies is operating with very considerable space constraints. However, the small size of the practice building has severely limited the amount of additional clinical space that can be developed internally. Unfortunately, there is no quick fix in terms of extending the physical footprint of the building and any permanent solution will take a considerable amount of time to implement. To help ease the situation, the practice has expended a considerable amount of time, effort and budget to create four additional work spaces on the 1st floor of the building. These additional work spaces are not suitable for face to face appointments but have been extremely helpful in allowing the clinical team to contact patients by ‘phone. The clinical team now includes Pharmacotherapy and First Contact Physiotherapy.
However, the practice list has now grown to a size where the building can no longer accommodate any additional increase in patient list size. In order to maintain a safe and appropriate level of clinical care, the partners have taken the very difficult decision to temporarily cap the practice list size. This decision has been taken with the full knowledge of NHS Highland with whom we will be in regular contact to review the situation.
As the practice will be capping and NOT closing the list, Kinmylies will accept registrations:
From immediate family members of existing patients
From Temporary Residents as they won't be on the list permanently.
If any patient/potential patient takes issue with the list capping and wishes to complain, then:
The complaint should be directed to the practice manager
The complaint will be acknowledged and responded to in compliance with the existing practice complaints procedure
A copy/ details of the complaint will be highlighted to NHSH Highland
The temporary closure will be regularly reviewed in conjunction with NHSH.
If you qualify as the immediate family of an existing patient then please complete the two registration forms and bring them into the practice along with evidence of your identity and proof of address.
You will be registered with the practice, but not with a specific doctor. Once registered you can see any of our doctors.
