Repeat Prescriptions

Repeat prescriptions Your repeat prescription can be renewed without seeing a doctor. All prescriptions have a tear-off re-order slip. To reduce the chances of any delay with your prescription, please give us a week's notice before your script is due and an absolute minimum of 48 hours notice prior to collecting your repeat prescription. Please post or deliver your re-order slip to the surgery (using the post-box in the foyer), or order by clicking on the PRESCRIPTIONS box above.

Special requests Some medicines are generally not available as repeat prescriptions. These will not automatically appear on the tear-off slip. They can be ordered as a 'special request', by writing the name of the medicine on the tear-off slip and either posting or delivering it to the surgery, or by clicking on the PRESCRIPTIONS box above.

*Please note that we cannot take orders for any prescriptions by phone.

* Please also note that the 48 hours needed to process prescriptions is actually two working days.  For example, if you put in an online request at 8pm on a Friday then the prescription preocessing won't begin until 8am on the following Monday - or Tuesday if it's a public holiday. In that case the prescription may not be ready until the Wednesday at 8am. If you put in a request at 2pm on a Monday then it should be ready by 2pm on the Wednesday. If you put in a request at 2pm on a Friday then it may not be ready until 2pm the following Tuesday.  If you are in any doubt about the above examples, please speak to one of the reception team. 

With the increase in primary care workload, it's very possible that the practice will need all of the 48 hours/two working days to complete the prescription, regardless of how quicklly it has been processed in the past.
